vacuum lines and heater and airconditioner control

my heat and air when on and running will switch from vent to defrost at will..wat is causing this?

It could be the switch in the dash. I know the 98 Explorer my family had when I was younger had a problem similar to this. My Dad had to take the dash apart to get to the switch to fix it.

thnks..so your saying the switch needs replacing or jst cleaned?
