MY sis has an 01. Trying to put some seatcovers on, but can't figure out how to remove those darn headrests (so I can take off that big plastic seatbelt guide).
Any help?

I poked around the net looking for some info and came across the same question on the v6mustang.com forum.
Here's one guy's procedure:
"I just pulled up sharply on them ... real hard ... and they popped right out.
When I got the seats apart, I noticed that they had a spring loaded detent that was inside the groved channel that faces toward the rear seat.
Going back in was easy, just inserted them into the slot and pushed down. Popped right back in place."
Might give this one a try... hopefully it won't break!

Yikes!! Don't rip!
Here's what you do:
Pick up the head rest. See the plastic ring around the metal arm? Get a thin piece of metal about 18" long and about 1" wide that is somewhat flexible yet strong. You gently separate the front of the plastic ring from the fabric under the head rest. You'll notice it isn't sewn or anything. Gently slip the metal down the front under the plastic ring and along the front of the metal arm. When it stops (6-8" or so) push the head rest down and then pull up on the head rest while keeping that metal strip down. It should slip right out.
Hope that helps.
