Not a whole lot. The 3.8L are fairly bulletproof. I've ran royal purple in mine since 60k and never once had an engine problem. I had a lower ball joint break on me, but I live in the country in Iowa and drive on country roads and mine had a salvage title so I'm sure they were worn anyways. Anyways enjoy the '04, you got a nice lookin one there.

I have an 04 with 73k miles. The only problem I've had is the ball joint as well. As long as it was taken care of before and you continue to take care of it you should be set. Great car!

Well do the usual, new plugs, all new fluids (trans, oil, brake). Flush the fuel system. Also at that age and miles you should be expecting to replace shocks and struts soon.

As everybody else has said, not to much. I've had one for 8 years now and have beat the **** out of it with no problems to the motor and wouldn't have had a problem with the trans other then I followed some really crappy advise. Even if you take somewhat decent care of it (as admittedly I have from time to time), the car will last you a long time

Well thanks for replying guys, I'll check the oil, etc. It rides pretty smooth so I guess the suspension is okay...it's good to know these engines/cars can last awhile...I don't want to have to buy a new engine or trans anytime soon.
