oil question

Using synthetic oil (Mobil 1 5W20 specifically), how many miles can a Motorcraft filter hold up until, or would you guys recommend spending a few extra bucks on a good aftermarket filter to hold up longer?

i use mobil 1 and a fram. i spend $20-25 for the oil and filter and I usually go about 5000 miles between changes. I know they are both rated for 8000-10000 miles, but I play it really safe.

Okay, one thing I definately know for sure from this story that I hope you know:

Fram = sh1tty filters

Okay, so I can last a while with the Motorcraft apparently. I know it's definately no junk filter considering it's the same as a Purolator. But yeah. Thanks.

Spend a few extra $$ and get a Mobil1 Synthetic filter. Much MUCH better than conventional paper filters.

5,000 miles and keep the reciepts and write the mileage on the reciept. If you go more could cause warranty problems down the road. Alot of guys here are only going 3,000 between changes.

Yeah that's what I thought. I figure probably about an 8000 mile interval at least. I just wanted to see what you guys thought too.

Im still going to change mine at 5,000 I put the synthetic in for better/uniform protection. I drive mine hard and going to work it doesnt have time to warm up completly which is harder on the engine.
