I have never heard of a "chip", but a tuner adds HP and better MPG. And a cai dosent hurt MPG, if anything it improves it.

the tuner helps you adjust the computer in your car when you add say a intake. You would also use a tuner to adjust the computer when you change rear gears or tire sizes so your speedo will read correctly. I throw another tuner you can call for advice and parts. Give Breenspeed a call. Where are you located Frenchy?

Like said, got a tuner instead.

And a CAI is a waste of money, a K&N drop-in filter with the silencer removed does the same thing, and looks better too IMO.

I had an ebay CAI on my car a few years ago, and after a harsh scandinavian winter it started to pop "A/F mix too lean" codes, I ended up trading it for a K&N drop-in filter, and I have been happy ever since.
