Well now it wont even start.
I can understand he hasn't giving enough to be confident but imo if he said the motor will not start again I could understand you stating "could it be seized, could it be this?" to go into the "motor is seized and the cylinders may be washed down and it is melted" is just confusing us and don't take this wrong but makes me suspect. It just isn't something I would expect someone to come up with for a statement then come back with " I assumed it ". I think alot of people are out of thier comfort zone maybe with this one

Well just trying to find a trailer and grab the car and take it to another mechanic. A way more reputable one that knows what's going on. Just afraid cause the rotating assembly is not turning. Will fill everyone in as soon as I know what it is.
I'm still waiting. It's been getting pushed in and out of the bay at the shop it's in so he can get caught up then devote his time to it. Dont worry haven't forgot about this I will post when I know what the hell went wrong with it.
Just had a similar problem. Try replacing your coil and see if that works. You may be getting spark but the backfiring tells me your not getting enough. You can actually still have spark with a bad coil so I would check it out
It actually all started 5 years ago and I had it at a "friends" house to new cam and intake both upper and lower, and it just got deeper from there. He had a ton of family issues after I dropped it there so I told him I was coming to get it ( that was 3 1/2 years without my car) then I spoke with a retired guy that was recommended from a friend he said no prob I can put it all back together and get her running. Should've never taken it there!!! Now after 5 years of battling to get a running car it's at a real shop and he's getting on it as soon as he can get some time. At this point I just want it running and sitting in my garage before the snow flies.
That's my sob story but its all self inflicted, well most of it.

Ok so as it sits it has almost all rods bent and apparently one dropped and is wedged against a piston which is stopping it from turning over, well that and the fact that all the rockers are broken and the valves are seized. So now it is scheduled for a complete rip down and rebuild. I think it's prob the best thing for it. Shouldn't be long now!!!!
