Torque ratings on the 5.0

i'm just wandering if any body knows what the torque would be on a pretty much stock 86 GT, i wanting to know because i got into a bit of a ****ing contest with a budy who has a VW rabbit GTI(obviously with a fart cannon on it), and i'm wanting some reasurance incase we were to race

1985 GT = 210 hp & 270 tq., 1986 GT = 200 hp & 285 tq(down 10 hp and up 15 tq from previous year), and 1987 GT = 225 hp & 300 tq(up 25 hp and up 15 tq...) I listed all three years as their engine performance changed in consecutive years

If you are talking about a newer GTI then you better do some mods to your 20 years year old stang cause you are going to lose.

I agree with Chris, those new GTIs are quite zippy, if its an old one from the 80s you should be alright.

Just rember from a dead stop 285 ftlbs of torque is a lot and in a 5.0 you get it a a fairly low RPM. I have a 1986 stock with a 130,000 miles on it and have taken quit a few Ricers.

it's an older GTI, i'd say about mid 80s but i don't know the exact year though
