Started resto project on 88 GT

I've had this car since high school (96) and she sat in the barn for the last four years. Started the restoration process this week...and it feels so good! I love this car and hated to know she was rotting underneath that car cover for so long. Looking forward to sharing the experience with all you other Stang crazy guys and gals on here.

I just added a few pictures to my album of the initial progress. Going to put in a few good hours today, so I should have updates this evening.

Added more photos in my profile album. Complete interior has been removed as well as the engine and transmission. Going to start sanding down the old paint and undertake the massive job of cleaning up the engine bay. Thank God the high here tomorrow is only 78 degrees.

Added more pics, mostly of the engine and Trans after disassembly and then the cleaned up block and rotating assembly ready for installation. Block has been notched for the 347 kit, all forged, from Eagle and Mahle. Looking to make 475 to 500hp with 9:1 compression and 8lbs from Kenne Bell. The project has been on hold due to funds and the fact that I hardly get back to KY from TX. I'll be moving the car to the Lonestar State at the end of the year.

UPDATE: Once again I was able to start working on the car here in 2016 and have the long block complete and in my garage. The car is being painted and will be finished by the end of this week. Feels good to be back at it again. Now to start ordering the tons of parts I need to install the engine and get it running.
