Sound Deadening
Does that spray on stuff from the auto parts store work well enough to be worth it? I'd like to spray the bottom of the floor pans, and inside the doors. Will this stuff be melted by the exhaust or what? And also, are there any other inexpensive things i could use foir sound deadening in the doors, or behind the rear interior trim panels.
PS: ive got a notch back. How does the rear seat come out?

Use something along the lines of Dynamat sound deadening...it will do far more than that spray
The rear seat back is bolted at the bottom and then lifts up and out....to get the bottom out depending on the year...push back and up or pull up if a later model.

Don't use that spray on stuff. It sux! What happens is when you spray a part that it doesn't adhere well (due to some dust or grease or salt) it will open up a pocket that can hold moisture thus leading to corrosion. I don't care how good you clean the bottom of the car, face it, it's filthy under there and there are thousand of nooks and crannies! The dynomat stuff is definitely the BEST although it is a little expensive. You might consider doing a section of the car at a time, that way you don't blow alot of cash in one shot. Do the trunk first... then do the doors later... then the interior under the carpeting. That way it also gives you a break in between. Another thing you can try, and it is relatively inexpensive is sound deadening material for buildings. It looks like the regular fiberglass insulation that you normally see in construction, but, it is made from recycled paper products and it also comes on a roll so it is easier to work with and install. You can use it in the trunk and inside the doors but I don't think it is possible under the carpeting. Good Luck!
P.S. I have an 89 GT convertible and the rear seat backs come out when you push down on it and then pull it forward. Then the bottom rear seat you have to push it toward the back of the car and then up. I had no bolts.
