Rear main seal leak

Rear main seal leak

I am new and i need help and advice, what I have is a 87 gt 302 5 speed I have put 5 different rear main seals in from different manufacturers two with seal sleeves, two with out sleeves and what I have on there now, is a teflon all have leaked within the first 5-10 minutes of me starting engine, just got done rebuilding engine, in January what am i missing ??????

I have had mine done several years ago and it still leaks. Someone told me that the trick is to use some RTV on the new seal when installing them. The amount of work to get to this seal is too much for me. I had a new clutch and flywheel put in at the same time since everything was apart. Good luck!

Yep. That's a royal pain to pull that tranny out each time. Been there, done that. I second the motion on RTV. RTV has worked well for me for other projects to stop leaks.
