dooooo it....not a bad deal at all

 

Strated replacing parts today, rear deck lid and I put the auto release on it and will put the button in the dash somewhere..

 

Small update, all electrcal cuts and splices fixed so all the lights work and the interior is gutted, new matching tail light...Next to the body shop...

 

Im glad you kept the original style tailights. I always thought those were the best looking tails of any of the foxes

I agree with Arin I like those original taillights. I was digging the coll mint green graphics also with the matching paint inside the 10 hole wheels. Car looks great outside for a'79 and for $600.

 

Well The plan is to convert it to a California Hwy Patrol look a like but with our clubs grafics on it. I have a star made with our clubs logo inside and above the star it would read Copperstate and under it will read Mustang Patrol. It will have all working lights not on the roof though but in the grill and rear deck w/strobes. There will be the inscription
" The Legend Lives" on each side like "to protect and to Serve" I just bought a complete 95 Explorer Motor and an 8.8 rear end w/ 3:55 gears in it. Bascially its going to become a show car for the club and take it all over the place. Since therre is no real "Collector" value it's going to have a home with our club...

Here is the next group of pics. Its staying a 4 Eyed Fox for sure for now and on to the paint shop, seats reinforced, truck media blasted and sealed and all the little dings and scuffs are gone!

 

IIRC, they will if you can find the same taillight mounting panel and don't mind cutting and welding.
Looks like it is coming along nicely.
