Need a new battery

I need a new battery for my mustang and I am wondering how many CCA's I really need. Can you all tell me what is best? Walmart seems to be cheapest at 550 CCA for $85. Same CCA at Advance Auto is about $105. Worth the $20 savings if you ask me but hey I am no battery expert
Thanks

Do you have Interstate Battery stores by you? If so, call around and ask for a blem. I've used several of them & have never had an issue.

Longevity and CCA is what I look for not so much the price. Price dictates both.

I'm on my second Optima Red Top battery, 1st on only lasted 9 years and 9 months.
CA 1000
CCA 800

I think a good part of the price is the warranty. What is the warranty on the big box mart battery. Check autozone.com also.

Paul did you use a battery tender at all during that 9yrs of battery life. I believe that is why I have had very good luck with batteries all these years. I use it if my car is going to sit more than a few days. I always have with all my cars.

With that Optima Red Top I did not use a battery tender. I bought another Optima Red Top about 4 years ago and I'm using a battery tender on it to see if it will out last the 9 years and 9 months of my first Optima Red Top.

The car is not a daily driver I typically put about 2K miles on it a year and from Oct thru March the car sits in the garage and is never started. But when I do fire it up there is never a slow cranking issue at all.
