My old 86 GT Found!!

Ok I have to tell you guys this story.. I had a 86 GT w/t-tops white and grey inside,I sold it to buy the 06 Legend Lime GT. I sold it to my next door nieghbors fiance's son for $2500 because he really like the car and wanted it. He drove it for 8 months and put a new clutch brakes etc. in it and took really great care of it. One day he pulled up in a new Toyota pick up and I asked him, where is the stang? Hold your breath.. I traded it in on this! I had to ask him who much they gave him for the Stand and he said...

$500

I nearly crapped my pants and told him, do you remember me telling you if your going to get rid of this Mustang Please give me first shot.. I'm sure it ended up on a whole-sale lot somewhere and for 2 years and 4 months it has been gone until yesterday on craigs list for $2700 I know its her, the 99 seats, red consol cover, pony wheels, and marks on the fan shroud that I accidentally put there.. I really want it back but will wait to see if the price comes down. I think my wife will understand as she never wanted me to sell it in the first place...I hope

Why don't people remember their promises? Similar thing happened to a coworker's buddy - except this was a all-original '69 Z28 Camaro. Was sold to a friend with the express promise/understanding that if the buyer planned on selling the car, the original owner/seller would get first option. Didn't happen. Needless to say, that friendship ended. Good luck getting your ride back.

why did that kid trade it in for $500??? Any logical person would have thought you would have given him much more than that.

At least you found the car!

Dave, I know how you feel. Years ago before Deb and I got married I traded my '98 Cobra in on a new '01 Mustang GT. She never forgave me for it. I've tried recently to buy it back but the new owner likes to look at it in his garage and drive it on Sundays. Now before anybody says anything, I know, I should be shot for trading it in. Oh yeah, offer them $2K for it and if they take it you're still ahead.

I know! They basically stole the car I would have given him double that and he could have made a nice down payment!

I might skip and see what he says.. I have been lucky before if he relists it a little lower then I can see how desperate or not he is top part with it... The what? What am I going to do with another one???

Just buy it and be done with it. You'll have it and piece of mind restored.

Back in 1992 I sold my 83 GL for $1500.00 and bought my 90 LX. A few years later it was up for sale again for $500.00. A dent in the drivers door, torn drivers seat but that was it. We didn't have the money at the time and I still kick myself!! Someday hopefully I'll find it again. I had a friend in the police dept. check the vin but no record..... maybe on the side of some ones garage... someday....
