My 5.0 is cranking but wont turn over

My 87 5.0 is cranking but won't turn over, I figured it might be the spark plugs but I fed it some starting fluid and it's started for a few sec. And I'm not sure if it's the fuel pump or filter because I replaced them about a year ago. Your help would be much appreciated.

I would guess the fuel pump seeing the starting fluid thing worked. See if you have fuel pressure.

The best way to check Fuel Pressure is with a Gauge. If you can start the car with Starter fluid then you have a problem in the fuel system.

Here are the things to check. You have a fuel pressure relay under the driver's seat. They do go bad and since you car is 27 years old. I would check that first. Also check in the back of the car. There is a Fuel cutoff sensor or inertia switch in back of these car. If they get hit from behind this sensor pops like a circuit breaker. You can rest it if it popped out. It's in the trunk or back hatch. There is a hole in the plastic and you can stick your finger in to rest it. Also Your computer might have just went bad. This happened to me at the race track. Other thing could be is a bad fuel pressure regulator.
