Manual to Power Seat Swap Question.

Hello there.. I need to know what is the easiest place to tap for 12v power in my 86 GT, in order to connect '02 power seats.

Is the cigarette lighter a good idea to tap into?
Or what fuse # in the fuse box?
Maybe a direct wire to the battery?

Anyone here done such swap?

Thanks in advance.

most people have done it through the cig lighter. I have never done one but all it needs is a 12v constant and ground to work the seat motor.

Thanks bud.. I look into that route then. Or may just run a wire to the batt with a fuse and call it a day.

Usually the wiring and connector is sitting under the carpet, below the seat... have a look.

If not, splice into the wiring harness that runs against the inner rocker panel on the drivers side.

'92 was the 1st year the fox was offered with a power seat if that is the harness you are refering too so he doesn't have one. I asked if he had power lumbar that harness would be there. It is easy enough to wire a nice clean setup for a 12v source once he has the seat out .

This is the best info I've found so far...Although I don't have power under my seat, it's a good starting point.
