I was just wondering why superchargers are so popular w/ 5.0 Mustangs. Is it just because of complication issues with the turbochargers or is it because of the money. I thought that it was because of the money but for the price of the supercharger and all the accesories that you are going to need to maximize its potential you could buy a turbo kit for the same price w/ everything included. Plus most turbo's make more power than superchargers and a significant amount of torque... or am I wrong (if im wrong.... fill me in). I would just like to hear everyones imput on this topic. Thanks.

Pretty close...turbos have recently become more popular due in large part to the advancement in computer tuning. Turbo cars are somewhat more difficult to tune, but the results are well worth it. Superchargrs are also easier to install, and are generally cheaper than a turbo kit. I guess you get what you pay for...

wow, the new turbos make big power. Crash aka Derick from www.trixtersracing.com made 548rwhp and 488rw torque on a SHM built 4.6 with 8psi, with a 3 core intercooler with 91 degree intake temps. The kit for 1100hp is only like 4800 or so. Turbos are cheaper, and also that hp comes from a t-67 turbo.
