Would these count as Boss cars?

i went to a car show on sunday and was put in the "Boss" class along with my 12 there was another 12 there along with a 1970 boss and then they had a 1994 boss shinoda and a saleen "parnelli jones" boss 302 in the class also....
would the PJ and the SHinoda count as boss's? since they were not originally produced by ford i was wondering....

IMO, it's how they leave the assembly line from Ford, not how they are modified afterwards.

So I would say no, they are not, they are tribute cars.

not taking anything away from them, i in fact was thinking about buying the PJ when it came out..just didn want to pay the $$ for it they were asking. even now i wouldn mind owning one. maybe the car show felt anything "boss" would be in one category instead of mixing things all up.
too bad most of the shinoda's didnt last....ive only seen maybe one or two that is still in good shape here on the east coast.

A Boss wagon....

I love the Orange PJ Edition, but would not classify it as a true Boss. To me, only the 69, 70, 12 and 13's are Boss Mustangs.

Look at the window sticker on a boss 302 from 2012-2014 they got built at flat rock and sent across the street to be finished especially the Laguna seca the other cars including ours is sent to us and modified same at the pj car. or the Boss 429

my window sticker says 2012 boss 302. i know most special editions will say mustang GT at the top of the description as in some of the roush and shelby's. i believe the boss shinoda's started out the same way.
the new boss 302 is completely different motor and setup than a normal mustang GT.
i feel that the shinoda bosses are just like the saleen, roush, steeda, etc as they start out as base GT, shipped to a factory and modified from original to make them what they are.
the PJ edition was in our category but the car show had a saleen category which i feel that the PJ should have been in there since it was a saleen specific car.
although you said the 12-13 boss was shipped across the street for final assembly it still stayed in the ford company thus it was still a factory product. it is no secret that they were shipped to a different building for final.
i just want to make sure next time i go to a show.

umm forgot one! 1971 Boss 351

They made the following

1969 429
1970 429
1969 302
1970 302
1971 351
2012 302
2013 302

Check out my thread with my grandfathers examples of EVERY BOSS made AND my 2012 last year... at that time it was the only place that all 6 models of Boss made were in one place and owned by one family with pics!! It was awesome!

B2 Boss cars were only shipped across the street for stripes. The 429's were shipped to Kar Kraft to have the front end modified to allow the wider Hemi Head 385 FE series 429 block to fit. A little different. And as for the Shinoda, not the same thing...

Saleen, Roush, Shinoda, Holman Moddy, et al are all cars that are completely street ready and certified BEFORE they are shipped to the upfitter and modified by replacing factory parts with that company's wares. Adding stripes by the factory, and sending a BIW to a company for a car to be manufactured for sale as a "factory Ford" are quite different than the above mentioned companies. Saleen is a "manufacturer" themselves and not selling as a Ford manufactured car
