I went out and started my 88 Mustang GT this afternoon and it would'nt idle. I've only had it for about a week, but today is the first time it happened. As long as I'm giving it gas, it will run, but it will not idle. Any suggestions, The carb is a Holley 670 cfm four barrel. The intake is the Edelbrock Performer 289. Where should I start trouble shooting?

 

I would start by cleaning the maf and checking for vacuum leaks. Mine had a similar issue and I replaced all the hoses and the issue went away only to come back when other parts failed later.

If there is no vacuum leak check the plugs and wires, fuel and air filters.

 

Yeah, I think I'm going to change the plugs out tomorrow just for the heck of it and see what happens. Thanks
