Not as much as you plan on putting in it. Best price for a 87 would be around $7k. I've seen a few more desirable foxes go for close to 10 but that 87 won't bring that. Notches and Cobras still fetch good money. Just not an investment type of car.

It depends where you are and what season it is. Where I am, that would go for 10 if done right

Its only worth what somebody's willing to spend on it. So honestly list it for what you want and drop the price accordingly… Personally id say 6-8 grand and thats assuming it's a good build, with numbers to back it up. Not tweaked due to the Ttops, and it would have to be in my eyes a very well kept clean body/underbody.

Well, it sounds like you're building the car the way *you* want it. This means you have to find someone that wants to buy a car exactly (or nearly exactly) like yours. This means your group of potential buyers has probably shrunken by an order of magnitude (or two, or three). You can recoup some of these potential buyers if you can convince them via your ad that you essentially spared no expense in the build. On the other hand...

The car will only ever be worth what the person buying it is willing to spend. That being said, a Fox GT (not a rare car by any means) that's *perfect* in all respects (including body, paint, interior, undercarriage, engine bay, wheels) with the right mechanical upgrades (stroker motor, 31-spine 8.8 or 9-inch, 5-lug conversion, disc brakes all around, tubular k-member, and handling) could be worth upwards of $15k. However, the mods I listed would mean you sent well north of 25k building the car.

Keep in mind that you're also competing in a market that includes New Edge models (GT's are selling for $5k) and early S197 GT's that are reasonably priced (I've seen them as low as $10k). This means your car has to be in perfect condition to sell for anything that resembles (to you) a decent price.

My advice is that if you want to sell it, don't put any money in it, and instead, buy what you want and put the money into that car. There's always someone out there looking for a good deal on a car they want (yours) with the intention of building the car the way they want it.
