Help! 1988 GT Convertible Top
Ok, I just bought a new pump for my 1988 GT Mustang Convertible and I have no idea how to fill the pump with fluid. I brought it to the dealer and they didn't know how to do it either. If anyone at all can tell me how to do this, you would be a life saver. Thanks in advance!

The rubber plug on the housing needs to be removed, and add automatic tranmission fluid thru that hole. Replace plug, and cycle top up & down. Repeat as necessary until all the air is out of the system and the reservoir is full - usually takes 4 or 5 cycles.
I've found it's easier to remove the back seat for pump access... You CAN crawl thru the trunk, but that isn't much fun... :nono:
