Got another one....

It's a sickness and I seem to have brought another lost soul home to the shop. I picked up an '89 SSP Ex Florida Highway Patrol Mustang. Was based in Tampa, FL when in service. It looks a little on the rough side but is very restorable. I'll post pics as soon as I take some....

It's not a sickness. Most sicknesses have cures.....

By the way, nice pick-up

As I said....a little on the rough side but she'll clean up nicely. My first task will be painting the basic unibody back to the black/tan colors....it's pretty straight other than the roof(not suprising given it had a lightbar and antenna on it). I am sourcing the spotlight now to put back on it. With these basic colors I can paint the car apart so I'll get the main part done and then move on to the rest.....

Got the brakes fixed and the car back together and running...drove it out of the shop a little while ago. At least now it doesn't have to be pushed around to work on it.

Wish I had the money to rebuild like that. Oh and I would like the skill. How much does it cost roughly (I know stupid question) to rebuild?

There are a lot of variations on what it would cost to restore a car.....including what you can do yourself and what you have to pay others to do. No matter which way you go it can be costly. Paint is your biggest expense and is the worst place to try to save money because you get what you pay for....use good material and have a good shop paint it then your car lasts indefinitely if you take care of it....use cheap materials and have MAACO paint it and despite all your efforts and care that paint job MIGHT last a year or 2 and will not look nearly as good.
