Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. A gal I work with just lost her husbands mother and a week before that, her dad died. She's holding together, but in general is a wreck.

You will need a spacer. I used the small one and bought it from a Ford dealership. It is a MotorSport part, but if I spot the packaging in my tool box(saved it in case I ever have a massive failure and lose it), I'll get you the part number. My gosh... it's been 10 years since I actually built an engine... It's still running and I never race anymore, so ... plus I kinda gave it to a family member(who also never races). I seem to remember having a balancer just like on my 302HO, a single bolt. Mine has an Eagle crank though, so maybe they just made it differently or maybe my mind is out there... Again, 10yrs. Hard to believe.

Looks like it's coming along though, and like your balancer is now on... As the Mens Warehouse guy would say, "You're gonna LIKE the way you look, I guarantee it!."

Never thought the 351W would be so much more capable than the 302HO, even tough I'd seen guys running 6's with the W block... Then I got my 408 together and ran better N/A than my 308 ever had with juice... 1/2 second quicker on its second pass ever. Now... we're just aging.

sometimes a break is a good thing, when you look at it again you have fresh ideas and see stuff you over looked. I've done that before myself. keep us posted.
