Hi everyone, quick question. I've tried to find the answer to this before, but couldn't. What's the difference between the 87 GT and the 87 GT Cobra.

On another note, if anyone knows of an 87 GT Cobra with a T-Bar for sale in the Toronto area, let me know. Thanks.

 

There was no 87 Cobra that I know of.

 

Technically there were, seems from 82-93 Ford of Canada replaced "GT" with "Cobra GT" for marketing purposes mostly. No difference in performance between the two, they are basicaly the same car. This link is pretty helpful....

+1, Yes I even have a big COBRA decal in the middle of my rear spoiler on my 85 GT Cobra as it is a Canadian car.

I am not too sure about the years stated above. As I am pretty sure it was only certain years. I know 82 to 84 it was marketed as GT only even in Canada. Then 85 they brought the Cobra name back. I got the big Cobra decal as I have no third brake light on my spoiler....in 86 the body style was the same with the exception the spoiler had a third brake light. They then put a smaller Cobra decal on the far left hand side of the spoiler.....same thing in 87 except Cobra decal on far left side of hatchback lid.
