A 302 intake will not fit a 351. The heads will work, but you may need to have them machined for 1/2 head bolts. The 302 uses 7/16 bolts. Due to taller deck height, you will need to get 351 headers to use in your Fox. BBK makes them (part #1511) as do others. Good luck and keep us posted on the progress.

and there is the question of the cam & valvetrain. with bigger displacement, you could easily step up to a "larger" cam, but, older 351W engines used flat tappet lifters - the last 351Ws that had OEM hydraulic rollers are considered the weakest castings. oil pan will have to be changed to fit Mustang K-member and so forth. more interwebz search-jutsu practice needed. here's one link that should help: http://www.turbomustangs.com/smf/ind...?topic=53597.0

You definitely need to have the GT40 heads drilled, I ran into that same problem. If you want to keep it fi then order the efi lower to fit the 351and use the 302 upper and accessories. you will also need a flywheel and harmonic balancer to fit, the 351 is a 28 oz imbalance and the 302 is a 50 oz.
I'm doing a 351 conversion in my 86 but Im going with a carb and I ran into the prob with the flywheel. Only a couple of companies make the right ones for the conversion, I used Ram and it ran $279. summit has the oil pan and pickup for the conversion.
Good luck with it, you'll have fun with it.

You shouldnt need to change the crossmember or sway bar, the pan should be it. Ill be dropping mine in this weekend so I'll let you know (providing my flywheel gets here from Summit).

With the right oil pan, the 351 will bolt right in. Same mounts and bell housing as the 302.
