Brake lights won't cut off
it started last night when moving the car the brake lights remained on but lifting the brake pedal remedied this, but this morning the lights remained on and i've had to resort to pulling the brake light fuse, i'm guessing its the switch its self or there is a short to power on the ground side of the switch basically bypassing the switch all together. any suggestions on what to check or if any one has had the same issue info on what you did would be greatly appreciated.
Thw switch has gone bad on the pedal...Most likely..
Sounds similar to what happened to my ford escort. Ended up being that a small rubber grommet looking thing located at the top of brake pedal fell off. Got some crazy glue and put it back on. It's hard to explain but if you get on your back and look up towards the top of the brake pedal you'll see where when you depress and release it there's a little grommet that keeps it from completely touching this other part. The grommet prevents these two area from making contact and keeps the brake lights off untill you press the pedal.
Confusing I know but it's the best explantion I can give.
