Replacing a front fender, difficult?

Also thinking about replacing the driver's side front fender on my '89. The original has serious rust issues. I have a rust free fender ready to go on.

Is this something I can do fairly easily in my garage with regular hand tools? Like over a weekend? Does the front bumper need to be removed to do this? If so, I may not want to tackle it. This is my work car, so it can only be out of commission a short time.

Thanks.
Mike

You can do it without removing the front bumper cover but it would be easier without it on there. You will have to just pull it out at the door and pull back off the studs that are on the header panel....But yes, very easy job with basic hand tools....unless you have rust bad enough to make bolt removal a problem or break a bolt like the one at the bottom of the fender. Use WD40 or similar to soak the bolts ahead of time.
