Acceleration issue

Hey guys I have an 88 mustang gt. I've started to have problems when I push the gas it's wanting to hesitate b4 I get any power If some one could give me some ideas on what to check I've already checked timing and cleaned out the intake manifold and still having problems.

Inspect your mass airmeter, hotwire. You might have to clean it. There should be nothing on it - not even a piece of lint. Spray it off with mass air meter cleaner spray, or non chlorinated brake clean.

This. Plus, it may help to know what kind of transmission your car has. IIRC, the '88 5.0 Mustangs for the CA market had the MAF setup while everyone else got SD.
