83 automatic t handle cable broke
Hello All,
I am restoring a 1983 Mustang convertable for my wife, and the cable broke that is in the automatic shifter handle that goes up to the t handle that allows you to select gears when you press in on the chrome button in the t handle. I have looked at different sites on the internet, and have not been able to find a replacement cable. Is there nothing available out there, or do I have to go to the junk yard?
Any help or direction would be awesome.
Thanks,
Ryan

watson,
i tried looking on ebay and looked under all possibilities, but was not finding anything for an 83.
I checked at a local ford dealer, and it is still available as an assembly (i am assuming you have to get the t handle, rod, and cable together), however, there isnt a dealer in the US that has one available.
If you can find the link to what you saw on ebay, pleasae send it to me. Otherwide, my next option is an aftermarket bolt in shifter. Wasnt really the direction I wanted to go as I wanted to try to keep the car looking stock.
Thanks,
Ryan
