Vacuum advance

I just finished rebuilding the carb and timing my 200 inline 6 today. The engine is on its way to running great. I noticed that after I timed the engine, the vacuum advance tube was touching the side of the engine due to the angle of the vacuum advance. Is this a problem? Is there a way to reposition it without turning the distributor? Hope I'm making sense.
