ugh

i have some issue with my motor. here is a list of what has been done and the main issue.. 289 bored .20 over . set of turbo swirl heads. howards cam 495 lift soild lifters new four barrel holley 650. summit intake.. motor is installed every thing hooked up.. starts then dies.. replaced the whole switch. new silo-node . new battery wires and new starer wire. and gets plenty of gas..
its acts like something gets hot then stops. is there a relay or something else like a bad ground wire some were.. any input will be welcomed..

sorry forgot its a 66 mustang convertible.

does it die right when you let off the key or does it run for a few seconds after you let off the key and then die?

Attach a test light to the +terminal of the coil.
Put key in run.....does the test light illuminate ?

No.?

How about during cranking?

Do this and report back with results.

found the problem. ground wire on the external regulator ground wire was fried and shorting out the power wire to it
