I'm working on the exhaust on my dad's Ram w/Hemi right now. Get my 40 Series FM tomorrow for it!!

On this 65, will I want glass packs? I just want it to sound good. All I know of who sells them is Cherry Bomb, I think? What will I want to get. I am going to dump the exhaust right after them. Thanks!!

I think glass packs, and Cherry Bomb are the same thing?

I think it sounds good the way it is. I think my Flows which are about the same as the 40 Series are a little on the loud side. You're not going to sneak up on anybody!

Glasspacks and Cherry bombs are pretty much the same thing just different manufacturers.

I got the 40 series Flows on my truck and yeah they are a bit loud especially since they drop off right in front of the rear axle.

Cherry bomb is a brand name, glass packs are the type of muffler

I wouldn't get cherrybomb. I have it on my 67 and I think I sound like a honda now.
I've had it on there for 2+ years now. I'm upgrading to Magnaflow when I get the money.

Looking on summit, all they have is Hedman Headers ones.

You're correct Eli, Glass Packs are just a style of muffler. With fiber glass and steel wool or something like that packed in to give it sound

I have a memory coming back of like getting them red hot, then putting water over them. Supposed to make them louder. Is that right, or am I just going crazy-r? I got that FM for the Ram today. It has a Summit catalog. They have those Hedman ones plus their brand. It will be much later before I get to this stage!

What I did with mine was get them extremely hot by driving it for a couple hours then sticking a hose in the tail pipe so the water would go into them. By doing that all the insides will break up and be shot out the back and it will be louder and a lil bit deeper too if I remember right.

I've seen some guys put them on a 65, but I don't think it needs them. What does the bottomt of the car look like? Are the frame rails still in good shape?

That's just it. I can't remember what it looks like. I keep forgetting to even take pics of it! From what I think I know, it was in pretty good shape. No rust @ all. That's all I know of. Thanks!!

If you want to reinforce it then they would help. I plan on buying me a set since I will be racing my 67 and need to be sturdy and not twist in the turns as much.

I don't plan on ever racing or anything. I bought the SFC's for my 95 just because I heard I needed to. I couldn't tell any change, hear it's better & safer.

You might just want to leave it stock then. If you're not going to race or anything like that then you might as well leave it be.

Are the floor board in good shape? Is there much rust? You might be better off fixing that?

I believe the floor boards are in great shape. When I look from underneath, no rust @ all. The car has been garaged since it was bought new.

I went to check in with my mechanic today. He asked me what's next. I hope it will be the brakes? Fixing to ask Lisa about it.

That's good that it doesn't have any rust. Brakes are a good next step.
