Got more today, I looked @ the original color yesterday. I saw what I wanted to see! I saw this deep & dark purple like the '97 color of Deep Violet. It is nothing even like that color!! Still looks great, way lighter though.
Here is that color:

The dash is in great shape!! Here is:

Miles: 115736.7

The interior is white seats & door panels with black carpet & dash. Front seats are covered. Here's the back:

Here's the Door VIN plate:

It's just waiting on me now!!!

I need some major help finding its original color! He said it came from the factory in that purple. It was supposed to be for the dealerships wife. Louie came in with the cash in hand, they sold it to him! He told me she picked the color out from a 55-57 Crown Vic. It was a trim option color. Something about their was a chrome piece that went along on both sides. It was painted in that purple for about 3". I found a website with nothing but the options for 57. I found nothing about this color! Now I know the shade, I haven't looked. Here are more pics I took of it.

He lived out in CA near the coast. The saltwater was not good on the paint. The place where he was having it repainted could not do that purple. That's all I wrote down from what he told me.

They had the LH window opened like 1/2". I was so afraid it might be worse than it was. It was surprisingly good, I thought. Thanks a lot!!

I would think that would have to have been a custom color. The timeline for '65 doesnt list any purple

What I would do is go to an automotive paint store and ask them if they can find that color in their books for those years and model of car. I can prolly bet that they will be able to mix that color for you to have it painted that color.

I found a VIN Decoder site & saved it early on. I just realized something, I think. There are 7 boxes to key in info from that VIN tag. From the pic I took today, I only show 6. It just hit me that the Color part is left blank, correct? Thanks!!

Yeah, it now says this when I skip that box:
Miscellaneous Vehicle Data

Body: 65A 2 Door Hardtop, Standard Interior
Color:

Trim: D6 White Crinkle Vinyl with Black Appointments, Standard Interior
Date: 10R April 10, 1965
D.S.O: 61363B Dallas (Special Order Unit 363B)
Axle: 6 2.80:1, Conventional
Trans: 6 C4 Automatic

You would be correct on that sir. Because it was a custom order for a different color that wasnt on the line up for that year of Stang they left it blank.

We haven't gotten that far yet. I remembered I sent that page to them. I could not remember it, but I found where I did it. Here's the site I found:
http://www.1957ford.com/asp/gallery....10&catdetid=41

I'm needing to go see about some stuff I need to get done on my 95. I got a dent in it I want to have fixed. I can ask @ the shop that will fix it for that color & stuff.

When I 1st thought of this I wanted to try & get it to how he bought it new. Like I said, not to that area yet. Thanks guys!!

It looks pretty good inside. Maybe you don't have to redo the interior?

I was told I might ought to go that route instead of just having one built. I remembered seeing the demos around town. Now that I know what they look like, see them all over my tiny town. The house where the car is now, has one. I'm going with the A Frame Style. The others with the hang over part looks not quite finished, to me. This one will look great. I had to order up a new quote, just waiting for that. See ya!!

The demo is 18' wide, I think. Too narrow to safely park 2 cars. It might fit, kinda need room to open your doors. I'm getting it 2' taller to make sure I can raise & lower my vert top, $50 extra.

I talked to a guy (motorhead)who was a Ford salesman in '65.
I rebuilt a pink '65 with no color code and that is exactly what he told me.
The story on that one was it was ordered by Hugh Hefner for a Playboy Playmate.

If that were true, then it might make that Mustang worth a lot more. That is if you can prove it?

Just got the carport ordered! Here is the rundown:
20' wide x 21' long A-Frame Style 14
Gauge Framework/Horizontal Roof 1,045.00
Close Both Sides on 7' tall 20' long 385.00
7' tall on 21' Long A-Frame Style/Horizontal 50.00
We are having a 5% off that would set your cost at 1480.00

$1522.00 Total

Supposed to take 2 to 3 weeks to make & deliver. & it will be in the color of clay. It's a light grey. With a darker grey as the trim.
