Since it's a 69, should we convert to 70 bolt-in windows?
Nah. Modern adhesives should take care of that one for us. Besides, even though it's meant to be driven, this car will be well protected and I think the windows will weather just fine. [/b][/quote]
actually if we convert to power windows using the electric-life kit, we'll need 70 model bolt in glass. i don't know if anyone thought about that, a car like this just almost has to have power windows, the kits are about $250 each for front and rear plus the glass and regulators.

Jay, can you update the budget to reflect that? glass and regulators generally go for about 150-250 bucks on ebay

I need someone to do a full build with costs to close the interior... on the interior thread. I could do it but it seems like I'm doing to much of that and I'd rather it was a group thing.

Not to mention I am not a familiar with the interior details of the 69/70 as I am with the earlier cars.

I wouldn't say that. It was an experiment and there is room for adjustment/improvement. For instance it's hard to work on a strict time frame when this is all done in our free time. (My photochop is coming along nicely, but I've been really busy at work the last week, so it's not on time)

Also, I think the bugetary concerns are bogging things down. It's alot of math to do, and in my opinion impossible to get anywhere close to actual numbers.

The Thrash should continue with other projects, but we should learn from this one. What do you think?

There's still plenty of work to do (grill, lights, ducktail, and tweak the color, etc.) But I think it's turning out pretty nice.

Yup, it's going to have to be simplified. I think it will need to be reworked with easier budget guidelines and more generalization. Good work on the chop, keep it going.

I think the Foose role is a bit difficult in the current format... I ended up having to run more than I thought.

maybe it would help if we had a definite theme to work with, and a smaller budget until we get it down good. that way we could see what we can do with a small budget and learn more about picking specific parts to fit the budget and then step up the budget as we get better at it. also i think we should set a definite time limit for everyone to submit their ideas say 10 days or something, and after that date no more will be accepted. i also think it would be a good idea to provide a link to any parts we plan to use that way nobody else has to go digging for the prices, etc. and on the custom work eveyone will just have to estimate the amount of time it would take to make it and figure that at a "shop rate" that we should all decide on before hand.

Hey, this was a good start... You don't learn if you don't try!

I'd suggest focusing on a theme/vision for several days, then spend a couple days on each "section", instead of having them all going at one... like a real project goes.

Bryan-
You want to start a new one this Friday as Foose, using Bob's suggestion of

i need some input from everyone on how to format this in the forum. should we do it like it is curently or follow a guidline something like this

1: post a sticky at the top like we have currently to get the general direction of the car, for a few days then lock it and do a post on each section of the car for 2-3 days, then lock it and then do the next section for 2-3 days and so on. alternatively instead of having someone lock the thread we could give a deadline that any posts after such and such date and time will not be relevant to the build etc.

2: have a seperate thread for the potoshop guy to look at once we decide on anything visual for the car, like paint, wheels, bodywork, etc. people should be allowed to post to it to help the "artist/graphic designer" with any custome bodywork, any kind of cues for the car etc.

3: we should have one main person in charge "the foose" a second in command we'll call the "shop foreman" and then the "artist/graphic designer" since not all of us have the artistic abilities of the real foose that's the reason for the "artist/graphic designer" position

4: i think the foose should be in charge of selecting the "project" car and deciding the general direction of the car, ie: stock resto, pro tourer, street rod or pro street etc.

ok guys give me some thought, comments and input, good or bad
