Rod and custom suspention

Rod and custom suspention

I have a 64.5 conv have any of you guys installed the the rod and custom suspension. And if you did how long did it take and what extra thing will I need to purchase. Also how do you like the kit.

I did it. Speed of gutting and install depends on your experience with this kind of work and your skills. Not to mention what tools you have to work with too. Being a former paint and bodyman, I had the shock towers cut out and frame rails cleaned up and ready in one day and all welded up the next day.
It really is simple and straight forward if you have visualization of a project. Have you watched their install video? I know, it the day of digital recording and high quality videos, it pretty much is a sucky video.
It actually took me longer to properly weld up and fill in the inner fender panels than the actual suspension. Ask them if they have the fillers with the lines rolled into it vs. the flat steel. I got the flat ones and they are boring.
I did opt to remove the strut rod mounts for a cleaner look too.

I did it and have been pretty happy so far. Have not put it on the road yet. They charge $1500 to install. That is a good bench mark if you get someone to do the work or if you figure a labor rate of $65/hr.
