Over Heating

Has any member here have a issue with your car over heating after using a new aftermarket fan blade? When I was working on my engine bay I switched to a Flex-a-Lite fan blade and now it seems I have over heating problems.

I plan on placing my stock fan blade back on, but just wanted to know if any other members had this problem?

Thanks.

Is it on right and pulling air? Have a smoker blow smoke at the radiator and see if it gets sucked through! If not, it may not be on right. Fan should be pulling air from grille through the radiator.

That's an interesting way to do it, but it will work!

Would also be good to confirm if the fan blade spacing from the radiator is about the same as the factory original. If the FAL unit is farther away, that could also explain the overheating issue.

i had to switch to a bigger around one on my pinto .. it would overheat at idle in traffic .. you may have simply gotten the wrong type fan .. their web sites shows they make about 8 different kinds .. and it also says in most appilications you must use a fan shroud .. in my opinion after market fan blades are not meant to perform better than stock .. they are meant for added performance .. lighter ... less drag on the engine and most likely less efficient .. speed parts ......

There is a product on the market called Evans Waterless Coolant. It never boils or freezes. Im not on commission dont worry, but it has just started to make a name in the uk. My supplier has had great reviews of it. When I use it on a daily basis I will get some. You can also reuse it. This is the answer for all us mustang owners! Its expensive but pieace of mind. You dont even have to run it under pressure. You must NOT mix it with water and you have drain n special flush the engine first. Superb no corrosion to. I should get commission for advertising it like this but I need to share it as I always see this type of post.
