So, who has actually installed a Mustang II front suspension into a 66 Stang? Who's kit did you go with? Any side effects? I have been scouring the net trying learn the ins/outs before I try it. I will eventually put a stroked 351W in but just a 302 for now. I checked out Fatmans website and they say that the early Mustangs really aren't meant to carry the weigt of the engine on the "tin" (think they mean thin) frame rails. Anyone disagree or know more about this subject than the "Fatman" people?

I am in the middle of the conversion right now. This was not part of the original plan but this time I thought it would be agood idea if I could actually stop the car and have some idea as to what direction it would be facing when I did.

Did a lot of research and phone calls. Was not all that impressed with the Fatmans engineering ideas. I ended up using a Heidts kit with Wilwood brakes and a Flaming river tilt column. These are just stacks of parts in the garage at the moment but am making progress to actually get them in the car. (I just have too many other comitments.)

If you have not done so ye take a look at Hot Rods USA. They have a great web site, great service and competitive prices.

I am also putting in a stroked roller 5.0 with a t-5 and an 8.8 rear end in a 65 so this is being a real challenge.

I've heard Heidts is the best to go with, but it's not easy if you don't know what you're doing. And I haven't heard of any problems with putting 351's, heck Ford did that one with the 5.0 Cammer engine, so i don't think that'd be a problem
