Not with the vague information he gave and the multiple factors that can affect the cost (ie: parts used, machining costs, etc)

Start calling parts stores and machine shops for pricing.

the "average" rebuild prob will be 500 to 1500, depending on many factors...can you reuse your pistons, overbore necessary?, block condition, what else is wrong..you wont know for sure until you dig into it.

if you are looking at having someone do it and mildly hopping it up I would say that the $700 range will get you a solid rebuild. Like the others have said it depends a lot on what you want to put into it. I would go with the header, the exaust seperator (can remember what it is called) and a few other mods. For more money you can have more POWER.

Don't let the rest of them here intimidate you. The 200 inline six can bang out some very serious hp. It has a very high red line due to the seven main bearings. Check out this forum Fordsix.com FordSix.com you will find a bunch of info on how to get your motor the way you want it. Most everyone has a eight (myself included). It is not hard to pump up a eight. A six is not any harder but has a bunch of character that a 8 will never have.

Go for it.

Also check out this article from Mustang Monthly ~ Ford Six Cylinder Performance Guide

Good Luck.

Richard.
