What do you all think of a highland green fastback that isn't a bullitt replica?
is that dumb, or is it still cool?

I was thinking of hella black magic driving lights to hide BEHIND the grille, but this would change the entire blackout look of the grille, at least when the lights are on. It should be almost invisible when they're off.

I also have tri- bar headlights, led sequntial tails, led sequential; hood vent signals, and led running/turn signal lights.

Is this too close, yet too far from a real Bullitt to be cool?

pics of the car in question? the highland green was a factory color so i don't see why you would think about it being a Bullitt clone

I'm not clear on the question... You're wanting to know if a Highland Green '68 fastback is "dumb" if it's not a Bullitt look-alike?

Cool car that it was - Mustangs do not begin and end with that movie! There wasn't that much special (looking) about the car in the first place. A lack of trim and the addition of Torq Thrust wheels, and that's about it.

I doubt that very many people point and laugh at the other '68 Highland Green fastbacks out there that still have a horse in their grille. A '68 fastback is way cool in any color, with any trim level, and with any wheels.

Maybe I still don't understand the question...

Build what YOU want....not what you think everyone else wants to see. ANY Old Mustang is cool in it's own right. Just because you have a Fastback doesn't mean you have to clone something else.

If everyone who had a highland green fastback built it into a Bullit clone, well... that would be dumb (and boring). Take from bullut what you like, and ingredients to your taste to spice it up.

I guess i 'm not understanding the ? ....Would you consider the car a bullitt if it was black and had some features of a bullitt ? or would you just consider it just another cool B) mustang?

only thing "Bullitt" are the Torq-Thrusts, no grille ornamentation, and dechromed. Thats not much. If you only changed the wheels, you suddenly don't have a Bullitt, so its not a big deal.

I agree--build what you want, how you want, with what you want. It is YOUR car.

yeah, you're all right
I should build what I want, and not worry about other people's opinions
But I think I've decided that HG is not the best color for the look I'm going for.
Sorry for the confusing question
