My gas gauge isn't working, can someone explain to me why?

This may seem sort of obvious, but have you checked the wiring? How are the connections at both ends? With mine, I had issues with the oil pressure gauge, and all it turned out to be was a loose connection on the engine side of things. Sometimes the simplest explanations are the most overlooked. Hope this helps, at the very least a TTT for the thread.

Well the oil pressure gauge is working, and I have not checked anything yet, I just wanted some input before I tried to solve the problem.

My money is on the sending unit. That's in the tank. Fairly easy replacement and a $25 part. But, is the gauge reading F or E? Needle moving at all? Do you know how much fuel is in there? Does the tank have a drain plug on the bottom left?

Well the gauge is reading empty, and I have just been filling the tank periodically, it is about half full right now. The needle is not moving at all...and I do not know about the drain plug, it may, I would have to check, and it is raining right now...
