Fake AN fittings
#1
I used a piece of #6 AN hose to connect the fuel pump to the carb on my stroker engine. I ended up with about 18" of extra hose. I keep looking at the short piece of black rubber fuel hose connecting the steel line to the fuel pump. I have been thinking about using the extra piece in its place. I found fittings to use at the pump end, but the steel line connection is a little more challenging.
I looked the selection of bulkhead fittings, the seem to be long, and I am a little concerned about potential interference when the 16 x 8 wheels go on the car. There are those "fake" AN fittings that give the look of an AN fitting but just disguise a hose clamp. I am using a Holley mechanical pump so I have little worry about this clamp not being able to handle the pressure in the line.
I am looking for advice or other options for this, please give me some guidance, TIA, Jeff

I have a standard 45 degree flare tool, not a 37 tool for the AN flares. The steel supply line is stainless, as I have found out bleeding the brakes, it is tough stuff to work with. But, you are right, that is an option I did not consider before.
