A guy from work owns a 1966 Mustang Convertible, he would like to know if '66 models came from the factory with the F-O-R-D letters on the leading edge of the hood. He believes that this may have only been correct on the '65 models. Or was this only on '66s for part of that model year? Can anyone answer this for me? Thanks.

All 65,66,67 had Ford across the hood.
Replacement hoods do not come with the holes drilled, so if you see a car without pin letters, it's likely a reproduction hood that the owner failed to drill.

One more thing to keep in mind: the chrome lip on the hood edge... '65s only had it if they were GTs; then it bacame standard in '66. Too many folks add it to their '65s when it's not supposed to be there. (Not that anyone is concerned about "correctness" these days!)
