I was wondering if anyone would have an idea as to where to look for the problem I am having. At night when my lights are on the dash lights and tail lights blink on and off occasionally. The headlights are fine, it's only the tail lights, dash light, and side markers. Could it maybe be the light switch or something simple as that? I'm not too good with the wiring repairs.

It could be a variety of things, the only way to know for sure without replacing uneccessary items until you find the culprit is to get a tester and check all the leads. If it was just the brakes I'd say start there, but it's not. Most likely culprits are either a bad switch, a bad flasher or a break in the line that occasionally loses contact. Have you recently added or repaired any electrical items or did it happen out of the blue?

it honestly sounds to me like something in the turn signal switch, i'd start looking for something in that vicinity

Actually it just started happening out of the blue. I have noticed though that my amp guage pulsates slightly and also the headlights at the same time. During the day there is no fluctuation in the needle at all when the lights are not being used and all other electrical things work fine. These electrical problems are frustrating, but when you're wiring is 36 years old I guess it is to be expected.

I Agree with 67Fastback...The Marker lights and the instrument lights have different connections coming off the light switch. If they are both affected the common point is the Headlight switch. How do you know your tail lights are blinking??? Someone following you?

Yeah, I decided to drive it to work yesterday morning since it was a beautiful day and it wasn't quite daylight yet and someone followed me into our parking lot and was kind enough to tell me that my tail lights were going on and off.
I am leaning toward it being the light switch also,it makes sense. Thanks for the help. I priced them in my different Mustang parts books and they aren't cheap, but it is something that I definitely don't want to let go on very long.
