I bet it isn't.
Ill bet ya a million bucks it is an original. He bought it right when he got out of high school. He was your typical heck raiser and used to street race it. He rolled it racing one night, had it fixed...amazingly the damage wasnt bad..but he had it repainted his high school colors....a dark green with white stripes...not my fav colors!LOL Anyway he put it up in 1970 and it sat in his garage since this past fall when he took it into his buddy's place to be restored. The guy does excellent work. My cousins and his son have been after him for 20 years or more asking "when you gonna get the shelby restored". Every year its the same thing "hopefully this year" and finally this is the year. He used to work alot and was always busy. We had a large family with cousins and his and my aunts house was always open to all of us. They were great to all of us going through our teen years of heck. So finally his kids are all grown, colleged and paid for, and he retired about 2 years ago and now that he is done his "honey do list" he putting her back on the road. The first time I went down to see it he told me the paint looked better than new and I thought he was full of poo. I wasnt alive when he bought it but I figured brand new dont get better but man it looks incredible. it has been a huge thrill for me to watch this thing be restored and see the progress as I can vividly remember playing in this car when I was little in his garage. All of the lawn furniture cushions would be stacked on the car every winter when they brought poo in for the season and it was a catch all for things like that and it always broke my heart to see the car like that. Anyway, I will post some pics of it when my 05 comes in. My dad has some pics of it now on his pc in various stages of the restoration and I may post them before hand if I figure out how to post pics

You can unwad your panties now.
If you look at what I quoted, I highlighted the "same color as yours". That is what I was commenting on. Cloney's car is NOT the same color as a Shelby would have came.
When I saw an Eleahor on the cover of my MM again I was so unpleased to say the least. I must have ranted a mouthful to myself walking up the driveway about how the enthusists resent this and how it's only to boost sales at the stand, I was BS to say the least. Then I read the first page comments and I was like "oh, so they do know, ok then at least they are honest." I mean they are in business to sell mags I guess and you can't argue with the figures but sheesh, enough already.

That being said please note I called the car Smellanore. Plus it is exactlly what I, personally, dislike. It is NOT the owners car. It is the builders car. When it breaks i am sure it will be put on a hook!!!

Pak that Tangarine Smellanore is a great car. But for 125K it had better be! I had the opportunity to be involved turning wrenches on it. The giggle of the shop is that we all doubt the owner will hit the Nitrous more than once. I am sure it will scare the poo out of him. It is fitted with air bag suspension, TCP everything else, a WAY cool custom dash / console, leather interior and the power plant... :worship: :worship: 408 crate roller. Made amazing power!

You have me at a disadvantage bud, what tangerine car, where? I was reffering to the white/blue vert on the may cover of MM. The car you are describing sounds interesting but it's all news to me. Any pics?
