Since the Cougar is the Mustang's cousin, this is "legal" isn't it?

My old "concours driven" 70 XR-7. Sorry about the poor picture quality - 15 y/o pictures...

Any other Cougar fans out here?

Bob-

Those are GREAT pictures. Beautiful car!!

What are/were some of the specs on Cat? 351, 4-speed, etc (Looks like a 351-4v, with A/C and a vinyl top!!)

Do you know where the car is today, or is she long gone?

Thanks for sharing!

It was a LOADED XR-7. 351C-4V, auto, 3.00 t-loc, air, PS PDB, tilt wheel, rear defog, black leather interior, rim blow, AM/FM, styled steel rims, front & rear swaybars, etc. Had 74k miles on it when I bought it in 1985 as a driver for my wife. She had it parked at work, when a guy backed into the front fender. After getting the $$$ from his insurance, we did a light resto, including the color change from slime green to acapulco blue. I added a few chrome "sprinkles" in the engine compartment, plus the Eliminator front spoiler & hood scoop. The vinyl top was still the original top when I sold it in 94.

It's still around - sold on Ebay a couple years ago. Was SO tempting to buy it back.

The car sure drove nice!

If it doesnt go too far astray (TheCougarSource.com? ) , Mber should post pics of the '67 XR7 he's doing a light bodywork/repaint on. Nice car, ~20k miles, IIRC. Almost a shame to cover all that original paint....

that makes me sick, i used to have 70 cougar, wimbledon white w/black vinyl top, 351-4v, auto, air, ps, pdb, tach dash and the slightly rare white and black houndstooth interior. had it stored at a "buddys" shop for a while and was looking for another place to keep it. when i found one i went out to the shop to let him know and the car was gone. he had apparently given it away to some guy to use it for parts. admittedly the car was basically a shell while it was at his place but the only rust in the car was in the drivers floor board. i'm still pissed about that and that was almost 2 years ago. unfortunately there isn't really anything i can do about it since the car was dismantled with a sawzall an a plasma cutter and i have no proof that the car was ever stored there.
