There are a variety of suppliers for the fiberglass but not the ones exactly as used on the Shelby, the Shelby has a very specific height size and indention on the rear. Most of the others are slightly taller and completely smooth on the back side. That's ok for a restomod if you aren't particular (as I am being) but it wouldn't be passable on clone at all. Let us know who/what he using please, that would be great.

Hi all, I got caught up on my PMs. Sorry for the delay. I'll get pictures sent out this weekend. I bought the deck lid from brandas during the restoration of my 70 convertible. I bolted it on the car with it in primer and it fit pretty good but I did not try the end caps. When I took it to the body shop to have the finish body work done, I found out the end cap fit was horrible. I wasn't going to pay what they wanted to make the caps work. The caps I had came from branda as well. If you can do fiberglass work your self, you will be in good shape, but to pay someone to do it, I didn't think it was worth it.

I posted the pictures on my picture page. I'll leave them up until it's sold.

I can't argue with the price you are asking Sharp, but considering the fit issues I think I need to say no and rethink who and what brand I do use and if there is no getting around that then maybe I am better off starting fresh with one that hasn't had an attempt at modding yet.

Pakrat, I think there is a misunderstanding. My trunk lid has not been modified or altered in any way. It is exactly how it came from Branda's. It is the quarter extensions that fit so badly. (which came from Branda's too.) The trunk lid has a sticker on it guaranteeing fit on a straight car. Unless they have came out with new quarter extensions in the past 7 years, everyone will have the same trouble. The original Shelby fiberglass fit leaves a lot to be desired too.
I'm going to list it on e-bay this weekend, if you change your mind, PM me. ( I held off this long for one of the members but he never came up with the money.)

Did you guys see this?

That is big dollars for a clone. This attention to detail is top notch. How are your cars coming along?
