70 mach 1 351 idleing high when hot

my car seems to start to idle really high when it starts to get hot or for no reason at all and the throttle sticks. Can someone give me a clue as to the problem.

First thing to look at is the entire throttle linkage. From pedal to carb.

Hot or warm?
I did have a carb where it would stick so it never came off the high idle cam.
When it got warm or hot it would idle really high.

Something is sticking...could be a plate or ??? Pull the choke cover/coil so that you can see how the choke shaft moves. Start it, and try to reproduce the sticking issue...then observe the carb to see if something is binding...It could be a myriad of things...

took it to the shop, the kickdown was rubbing up against the throttle, and the carb was tuned way to high (the previous owner had the car cause it looked cool, rich yes, gearhead no) so i had to get a few things kinked out. A place around here called mustangs etc. (warning) had the car for 6 months and jerry rigged everything. i had the linkage put back stock and the carb tuned right. Now the pony is a screamer. It runs great. might have to change the gears in the rear end, but thats another post....
