There's a lot to consider when making a coupe into a convertible. Many find it prohibitively expensive, and opt to sell the coupe and buy a convertible. In order to do it right, you need

1. Inner rocker frame supports
2. Torque boxes (need to add one to your 67)
3. Convertible seat risers on top of floors
4. Convertible floorpan support on bottom of floors
5. Convertible frame support section in backseat area
6. Drip rail around back of interior
7. Convertible rear inner quarters
8. Original OEM convertible top frame
9. Convertible windshield treatment
10. Convertible door sills
11. Convertible carpet
12. Convertible door glass

As you can see, it is not nearly as simple as cutting the roof off. I've seen many attempts at this, but only one or two successful ones. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Mberglo's pretty much got this one nailed - not cheap or easy.
How much do you guys think - $10K+ for professional work??????

Probably not a bad estimate. Mind you, that's not a total for the restoration of the car, only for the conversion.
