As far as these tubes go, I'm having a real hard time taking that black plastic connector out. It comes out just fine on one side (the side closer to the front of the car) but it seems to be stuck on the other side, or I'm just too weak to take it out. I considered just cutting the tube off where the plastic ends, but then it would be too short to reach the spacer. Any ideas?

 

Replace the hose directly. The other end is at the firewall for the heater. Either slip up under the dash and get that hose off that end, or the clamp is outside on the firewall. Take the clamps off, get a razor slice the hose, and done. New hose, same Inside Diameter (ID).

Take a piece to the auto parts store and get a new set to replace the old ones.

Be what I'd do.

/Of course, coolant might be fun to deal with, so drain some out before the hose replacement, k? K. Take it with you to dispose of a the parts store and then get a gallon of coolant and mix it 50/50, top off the system when you put the hoses back on.

You might want to get a shop manual then. You're working on a car. You need to know the things(tm), so a good shop manual is worth its weight in gold when you are new to the things.

And after thinking about it... where the heater core sits, you might need to drain out a bit more than 'some' coolant. Like, all of it. Because it's low in the system.

Not tryin' to scare ya off, but if you're going to do this stuff... get the right info in your face.

please have a mechanic friend look at your car .. you have too simple a problem to keep having a problem that we on the web can not fix .. a mechanic can fix you in a minute without having to charge you a small fortune ..bring it to me in alabama and i will fix it in 10 minutes .. it aint rocket science but if you dont know you dont know ..no shame in that
