Its flaking awake and has no rust. But there is a tad but of surface rust on one of the smaller flakes.

Just got quoted $435 for paint and work with a two day turn around and a life time warranty. They will remove the front and rear glass to get complete coverage and seal.

What do y'all think? Does it seem fair?

Whether i get rid of it or keep it i cannot very well sell it with a huge chunk of paint missing and rust forming!

Good point. Price and warranty on the paint sounds good to me.

My Crystal White paint started peeling just like that on my roof on the 94 as well. Can't believe they kept selling the stuff long after they knew there were peeling problems with it.

I know I have been going back and forth for awhile about selling my car or keeping and building it, but i think i have come to a serious conclusion.

In July my car will be fully paid for, and after talking to a couple buddies and my parents i determined it would be a good idea to have a completely paid for car at 18 then to purchase another and have to make payments for 3 more years. With that being said I am going to keep and build my car. I will lay out the body, engine and drivetrain plans for the future.
Keep in mind this is an ever changing list!

Engine:
-dss racing 4.6 stroker kit (forged crank, dished pistons and rods)
-porting and rebuild of the pi heads
-stage 2 or stage 3 cam
-long tube headers
-felpro gaskets and arp bolts

my goal is to make 320 n/a rwhp while maintaining a neutral compression ratio so i can throw a blower on there later down the road.

Drivetrain:
-built 8.8 (frpp diff, moser axles, frpp diff cover)
-stage 2 clutch
-frpp alum ds
-t45 source built transmission

body:
-cowl hood
-99/01 front bumper cover
-03/04 rear bumper (cobra shaved)
-bullitt or cobra side skirts
-03/04 cobra side mirrors paint matched
-spoiler delete
-all emblems shaved!
-painted a pearl or sparkly white with a gloss black roof.

For the time being i am just going to save up my funds, maybe purchase a few of the hard to find body pieces as they come up, then towards the end of the year (when i am done with basic and tech school) I will consult with a performance shop on getting my motor takin car of.

I would go up a little on compression. If you are getting a properly built short block the extra compression will make even more power with less boost. As long as you are running good pump gas and a good tune. Lower compression is good if you are planning to run a lot of boost. 10-14 pounds and you'd see a benefit of an extra point of compression ratio from stock.

Gotcha! I will definitely have to research compression ratios, cam lifts and duration's etc etc so i can at least be informed about what I am doing.

The bullitt and Mach 1 had different panels that fit behind the rear side window. It extended further to the trunk than the standard V6, GT models. And 1/4 glass is the rear side windows

Looks like a lot of orange peel. I don't know a lot about painting, but I'm hoping that's what the wet sanding is for?

No orange peel at all.

I am certified automotive painted and have been through years of auto body classes so I know what I'm looking for!

It is a bit dusty if that's what you're seeing.
