Auto Lock activates alarm?

Hi I am new to this site. I just recently bought my first Mustang and I gotta say, i love it. Such a great car to own. It is a 2008 V6 and its pretty nice.
Well i haven't had any issues with it until today, I was driving when I hear the car lock and unlock twice in a row. I though nothing of it, then i notice that the alarm was armed for some reason. I tapped the dashboard and the alarm went off while i was driving. i had to press the unlock button on my remote to stop it.
I got home and forgot about it. I decided to go to the store, i turn on the car, put it in drive, then i hear the auto locks work then the beep of when you lock the car with the keyless remote, then a blinking blue light under my steering wheel,
well i tapped the dashboard and the alarm went off, the only way to turn it off was by hitting the unlock button on the keyless remote.
so i park the car turn it off, turn it on put it on drive, auto locks go off and the alarm once again is active.
ive been searching around but havent found answers so i decided to deactive the autolock which seems to do the trick, i drove and no alarm went off.
Does anyone know what casues this problem with the auto lock?
the blinking light that comes on, underneath it theres a button, if that helps for something. Thanks for the help!

Well there shouldn't be a blue light under the dash at all. Sounds like an aftermarket security system, but it's hard to know the problem without knowing what system it is.

When I got my 05 it had an after market alarm that's had been bypassed or something of the sort. I just removed it & made sure all of the same colored wires were still together. No problems with mine. Wish I could be of more help.

I've had absolutely nothing but bad experiences with aftermarket security systems. They have minds of their own, they drain batteries, and they're just generally a pain in the butt.

That sounds like the problem you're having. Some of them, depending on if they're professionally installed or not can be pretty well tangled up into the heart of the car too, and removing them can create other problems. I recommend you take the car to a professional car audio sort of place that has plenty of experience with alarms and doesn't have a bunch of kids working in the install shop and have them take a look.

Sounds to me like your aftermarket alarm went fubar. Like they said rip it out and wire it back to original factory and you should be good to go.
